Today is our six month anniversary. Six months! On one hand our wedding feels like it just happened a few days ago...on the other hand, it feels like we've been married forever. And I mean that in the best possible way. Marriage for us has meant unlimited time together--time for napping, exploring, cooking, playing, studying, traveling, and learning more and more about each other. It has meant sharing--sharing every bit of our lives, sharing our home, sharing each other's happiness and struggles. And most of all, it has meant fun. Plain and simple, it has meant so much fun. Because we're students, we still don't quite feel like adults. We have pretty loose schedules, so we are blessed with the time and ability to pick up and do something spontaneous at any point during the week. I am thankful for this time of minimal responsibility. This time of simple joy. And while I know it won't always be quite like this, I hope we're always "not quite adults"--always up for adventure.
To celebrate our half-year anniversary, we went to heaven, a.k.a
St. Jame's Cheese Company. We drank wine, split a cheese plate, and shared each other's main courses (arugula with manchego, pears, and almonds for me; croque monsieur for James). We talked about our first six months--the things that were good, the things that could be improved. And, best of all, we talked about our goals and plans for the next six months of our marriage and beyond. The night ended with some research and daydreaming about a big trip we are planning for the beginning of the summer. It will the be the biggest adventure I've ever been on...and I can't wait to do it with my best friend by my side.
Happy anniversary, James. I love being married, and I love you the most.
Best six months of my life. For sure.
You make me feel like one hundred dollars.
