1.22.2013-1.28.2013
1.22.2013:: after a very long day at school, we discovered this little treat on our doorstep. Our friends from California sent it this way, and it was just the best surprise. Stu and Sharon make the most delicious bread, and some of their go-to recipes are in this book. Can't wait to give some of them a shot!
1.23.2013:: I have a pretty decent sized break between classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. On this particular Wednesday, I took full advantage of that break. I packed up my book and lunch and walked down to the park. Such a nice way to spend the time. Plus I got to talk to my mom for a good long while, and sometimes that's exactly what you need. You know?
1.24.2013:: On Thursday I had to stay late at school to watch our school's moot court team in a mock competition. Wow! They were so impressive (and so, so intimidating! They didn't stumble once! How is that possible??). But before the event, James came uptown for a quick bite to eat. We decided to try the Milk Bar, and James blew chocolate milk bubbles, and it was all great fun.
1.25.2013:: for Chocolate Friday, we headed back to Jack's for some sweet treats. We split caramel sushi (the greatest--a log of caramel, dipped in white chocolate, rolled in Oreo crumbs) and a giant macaroon. After indulging, we walked around the neighborhood for a bit and eventually stumbled upon this awesome house. I love the colors! It is just so very New Orleans.
1.26.2013:: Saturday we spent some time organizing our lives. We finally have a bed (thanks mom and dad!) and, by extension, new places to store stuff (under said bed). Our room is feeling much less stuffed, and I'm lovin it! I also got to organize my bauble collection. My little brother Will works at J. Crew, and he hooked me up with those gorgeous flower earrings an that cute, sparkly alligator. Thanks again, young William!
1.27.2013:: late Saturday night, James go an email about a 5K that Tulane's medical students were hosting the next morning. And since we didn't have any plans for 9am, we decided to sign up. It was so fun! I'm slow, but James ran all slow-like with me, and I ended up PR-ing! I felt so good afterwards...like I had conquered something big! This was just such a perfect day...a good run in the morning, a delicious, cheese-filled lunch, a three hour nap in the afternoon, and a late night of studying and spending time together. Just perfect.
1.28.2013:: alright this one is kind of a cheat--it's one of my bridal portraits from last summer (taken by Julie Ribando). But Monday was our six month, so I thought it might be fun to commemorate the day...and that pretty dress. James and I mostly just schooled the whole day (we celebrated on Sunday), but we did share a yummy meal together that night. And he surprised me with some pretty flowers. So looking forward to the next six months as his wife!
